Scientists often use classical immunization strategies and hybridoma technologies to generate antibodies. However, when producing antibodies against poorly immunogenic targets, such as membrane proteins with short extracellular domains, these approaches achieve limited antibody diversity, making it difficult for scientists to select good candidates for pharmaceutical development. Innovative approaches that combine RNA immunization and single cell screening provide unique opportunities for researchers to dramatically speed up antibody discovery against such challenging targets.
In this webinar brought to you by Bruker, François Romagné will present his work using mRNA immunization and single cell screening to obtain large collections of antibodies with molecular and functional diversity against a difficult-to-target G protein-coupled receptor and ion channel.
Topics to be covered
- Generating antibodies against difficult targets with mRNA immunization
- Beacon® single cell screening technology for antibody discovery
